Actress, producer, philanthropist and environmentalist Rosario Dawson stars in new movie, Gimme Shelter, where she looks almost unrecognizable playing mother to actress Vanessa Hudgens. Rosario proved she isn’t afraid to get a little messy for a good cause, and that stayed true when she played a fun game of pie throwing with Queen Latifah and Bridget to win money for her charity, Studio One Eighty Nine.
Studio One Eighty Nine is a social enterprise created by Rosario Dawson and Abrima Erwiah that consist of creatives that seeks to provide a platform to help promote and curate African and African-inspired content through an ecommerce shopping site, a supporting agency and an artisan produced fashion collection, called Fashion Rising Collection, launched in support of V-Day’s One Billion Rising. We focus on creating opportunities for empowerment, education and employment of artisans and creatives. Kisua, a global online store that offers contemporary, ready-to-wear African fashion, stepped up to the pie plate and donated $500 for every pie thrown for Rosario’s charity! And to make things even more exciting (and messy!), Rosario won an even $5,000 for getting behind the target herself. Take a look!
